RAWALPINDI: Lawyers’ rally headed by deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has reached Rawalpindi Bar here on Monday.The deposed chief justice is accompanied by Aitzaz Ahsan, Ali Ahmed Kurd, Latif Afridi, Baz Muhammad Kakar and other lawyers’ leaders. Iftikhar Chaudhry was accorded a rousing welcome by cheering lawyers on his arrival to Rawalpindi Bar where he is scheduled to address the lawyers gathered to observe ‘black day’ against November 3, 2007 actions.
Earlier, deposed chief justice left for Rawalpindi along with lawyers, members of civil society, and political activists. He is expected to reveal some important secrets in his address to Rawalpindi Bar.
The deposed chief justice will leave for his residence after addressing the layers while lawyers will take out a rally to observe ‘black day’ and stage a sit-in before Parliament House.
Meanwhile, sit-in and rallies are being staged in other cities too amid boycott of courts proceedings.
