Hyderabad: Lawyers would observe November 3 as “black day” to remember the emergency rule imposed on that day last year by then Army Chief General Pervez Musharraf, sacking about 60 judges of Supreme and High Courts including Chief Justice Supreme Court Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
A rally would be taken out on this day in Islamabad in front of Supreme Court of Pakistan to be participated by scores of lawyers from all parts of the country on 3rd November 2008.
The lawyers in Hyderabad would hoist black flag on bar offices and stage sit-in before office of DPO Hyderabad on Miran Muhammad Shah road. They would also wear black armbands and stage a protest rally. Political activists of All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) would also join the lawyers on that day.
This was stated by representatives of political parties and lawyers in a joint press conference held here on Saturday. Those who addressed press conference included Zafar Rajput convener of Lawyers Movement Action Committee Hyderabad, Abdul Rehman Shaikh vice president High Court Bar Association Hyderabad, Maulana Abdul Wahid Qureshi, deputy secretary general Jamaat-e-Islami, Saleem Khan Tareen president of Pukhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party Hyderabad division, Ghulam Sarwar Qureshi of Tehrik Insaaf, Israr Chang of Awami Tehrik, Sachal Gopang of Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party and others.
