Malik Riaz gets seven more days to hire counsel.

SC resumed hearing of contempt of court case against business tycoon Malik Riaz on Thursday.
A three-member special bench of the apex court headed by Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan conducted the hearing of the contempt case against real estate tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain.
During the proceeding, Malik Riaz informed the bench that no lawyer is ready to defend him. He sought more time to hire a lawyer to fight his case.
Justice Shakirullah Jan remarked that hiring a lawyer is Riaz s own matter, adding that the court just need reply of show-cause notice
Malik Riaz asked court to give seven more days to contract a lawyer and assured the apex court that he is ready for the punishment if he failed to comply with the orders.
The bench while adjourning the case hearing till June 28 gave Malik Riaz seven more days to hire a counsel.
Real estate tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain is facing contempt charges over a press conference during which he ridiculed the judiciary pertaining to the Dr Arsalan Iftikhar case.
With a pocket-sized copy of the Holy Quran in his hand, Malik Riaz hurled serious but contradictory charges against Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and his son.
