SUKKUR: Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, the deposed chief justice of Supreme Court, addressed a condolence meeting here on Friday. He visited advocate Imdad Awan's residence on Thursday evening and termed his demise as an irreparable loss to the lawyers' struggle.
Talking with late Awan's son and other family members, he said committed lawyers like Awan would be remembered by the nation. He was accompanied by Supreme Court Bar Association president Aitzaz Ahsan, Hamid Ali Khan and Athar Minallah at the meeting. The deposed CJP paid tributes to the deceased for his active role in the lawyers' struggle.
Meanwhile, Aitzaz Ahsan, condoling with the family, said that lawyers would continue Awan's mission till the success, adding that the deceased was the backbone of lawyers' movement. A large number of lawyers' welcomed the deposed CJP and accompanied him to Awan's house.
