I will make important revelations during Nov 3 lawyers convention in Rawalpindi: CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry.ISLAMABAD: Chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said he will make important disclosures during November 3 lawyers convention under Rawalpindi District Bar adding he will expose several prominent faces in the convention. .
Iftikhar Chaudhry said this while addressing Supreme Court Bar function here Monday. He observed lawyers were united still and their movement was a unique movement adding no power on the earth could stop them from achieving success.
“Lawyers are my guests and I am their host in Supreme Court. No power on the earth can prevent the people who believe in the supremacy of constitution. Those who have played their role in the movement are highly praiseworthy, he noted. The role played by Bushra Aitzaz wife of Aitzaz Ahsan was ideal, he said adding Bushra was very brave lady and ‘I” salute her.
“I will make important revelations on November, 3 in Rawalpindi District Bar convention and will inform the nation what demands were made from me. I was arrested on November 5, 2007 as I was going to hear cases of important nature on November, 8, 2007”, he told.
It will not be correct to describe them just unless parliament approves November, 3 steps, he said adding those who say constitution has been restored are making baseless claims.
Meanwhile Iftikhar Chaudhry was stopped and subjected to search operation for 3 hours on his way from residence to Supreme Court.
The lawyers did not chant any slogan in compliance of directives of Iftikhar Chaudhry and maintained discipline. Lawyers were not allowed to enter into red zone, therefore, they staged sit in and played anthem against the government wherein President Asif Ali Zardari was targeted. The administration however after some time allowed the lawyers to move into red zone. However media was not permitted to go there.
