ISLAMABAD: A delegation of lawyers from Gojra lead by president Gojra Bar Association, Chaudhry Shafiq called on Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry here at his residence on Thursday.
During the meeting they discussed the issues of Lawyers’ long March and intended visit of deposed Chief Justice to Lahore and other issues in length.
On the occasion, the delegation told Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry that they were contacting people from all walks of life to make the Long March successful. This would be the greatest long March in the history of Pakistan, he said.
Our aim is independence of judiciary. All the lawyers and civil societies organization throughout Pakistan are united for the accomplishment of this dream.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry lauded the lawyers’ commitment and appreciated the role of Gojra Bar Association and its contribution for the lawyers movement.
He further said that young lawyers are the backbone of lawyers’ movement and they have infused a new spirit in the lawyers’ movement.
