LAHORE: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary visited Kot Lakhpat Jail here on Saturday.
The chief justice summoned Inspector General Police Punjab (IGP), Secretary Health Punjab and Chief Engineer Buildings Punjab and held a meeting with them.
He along with LHC CJ Khawaja Sharif and Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday inspected the jail's kitchen and dispensary and checked the standard of facilities being provided to the prisoners.
They also visited all barracks and death cells of prisoners and met prisoners and enqired their problems.
LHC Spokesman told APP that CJP and other honourable judges also discussed with the authorities the designs of jail barracks and the death cells.
The CJP directed the jail administration to provide all facilities to the prisoners according to the jail manual.
