Senior lawyer Nasrullah Warraich shot dead in Lahore.

LAHORE: A senior advocate of Supreme Court Nasrullah Warraich was Monday shot dead by two bike riders in front of his house in Gulshan-e-Ravi.
Police have not registered any case till the filing of this report because they have not received any complaint from his heirs. Lahore Bar Association (LBA), Lahore High Court bar Association (LHCBA) and Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) have condemned murder of the senior lawyer and announced a strike and boycott of courts for Tuesday (today).
According to the eye witness and house servant Sultan, two bike riders came to the house and knocked at the door. “One of them introduced himself as Shahid and told him that they had come from Sahiwal to see Nasrullah to discuss some cases, but when he reached outside the door, the killers opened fire and fled, after exchanging a few words.
“Nasrullah fell on the ground unconscious,” he said and added after hearing fire shots, the family member rushed towards outdoor where Waraich was lying in a pool of blood. He was shifted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital where he was declared as dead.
Police sources said Nasrullah, 70, sustained one bullet in his forehead which claimed his life. The lawyer fraternity after hearing the news of the murder rushed to his house and mourned the sad demise. His body was shifted to Mayo dead house for postmortem.
Sources in police department said after the news of brutal murder of Nasrullah, senior police officials of Lahore police including CCPO Ahmad Raza Tahir, concerned SPs, DSP and SHO immediately reached Mayo Hospital and held an emergency meeting. It was also learnt from some sources that Nasrullah had represented the federal government in the case of 18th Amendment and the President’s dual office case in Lahore High Court.
Lahore Bar Association (LBA), Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and Punjab Bar Council (PBC), have condemned the murder of Warriach, who was ex-chairman executive committee of Pakistan Bar Council and announced a strike and boycott of courts for Tuesday (today).
