Lahore High Court has accepted the plea over the increase in hajj expenditures for hearing.
LHC Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed heard the petition today.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer said instead of providing subsidies, the federal government has deprived ordinary men to perform hajj by increasing the total expenditures.
The petition also stated that the quota has also been given on preferential basis increasing the chances of corruption in the process.
Admitting the plea for hearing, the court sought a reply from religious ministry and federal government till May 2.
