Insari condemns govt for insensitive treatment of Justice (r) Tariq Mahmood.
LAHORE: Pakistan Bar Council’s former vice chairman Hafiz Abdur Rehman Insari strongly condemned the government for not letting provide health facilities to Justice (r) Tariq Mahmood who is under house arrest. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Insari said the doctors at the Services Hospital Lahore had referred justice (r) Tariq to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Science (PIMS) for physiotherapy and nerve test but instead he was detained at his Islamabad residence without be allowed to attend the appointment. He said due to the delay in his treatment he was suffering from a severe toothache. He said Justice (r) Tariq was shifted from Sahiwal Jail to the Services Hospital Lahore on November 26, from where he was taken to his residence in Islamabad. He said even after a month he had not been given proper treatment. “Does the government want that his health deteriorate like advocate Munir Malik?” he asked. He condemned the authorities for the insensitive treatment of Justice(r) Tariq Mahmood and demanded the release of all the ‘illegally’ confined judges and detained lawyers. staff report
