Aitzaz urges leaders to fulfil commitments.

ISLAMABAD—Former President Supreme Court Bar Association, Ch. Aitizaz Ahsan Friday said that implementation of public commitments by the coalition leadership would help strengthen peoples’ confidence in rulers.
Aitizaz Ahsan said that he has time and again requested his party leadership to take some bold decisions in line with public promises but unfortunately the matter is being delayed.
To a question he said the movement of legal fraternity is not person specific, rather the community is struggling for the reversal of November 3 action of a dictator.
He said that how a person can be allowed to sack 60 judges of the superior judiciary and keep them under house arrest alongwith their family members.
Aitizaz said that restoration of deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary is essential to undo the November 3 action of a military ruler because he has become a symbol of movement. He said that strong and independent judiciary would help pave the way for the solution of all the problems that country was facing at present adding the investors prefer to do business in the countries where the judiciary is strong.
To another question he said that validation of November 3 step of a dictator would be a very bad example.
The deposed CJ, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that the Lawyers’ movement had full blessing and support of 16 crore masses, solely due to its dedication to independence of Judiciary.
While talking to a five-member delegation of district bar association of Chakwal, headed by Sheikh Zafar, Hassan Farooqi, and tehsil president bar association Choa Syedan Raja Asad Raza, the deposed CJ said that history was witness to the fact that any society devoid of justice can never be a civilized one.
The honorable deposed CJ informed the gathering that he would be proceeding abroad, to USA on 16th Nov to receive the highest award Role of Honor, which was a matter of great pride for the entire Pakistani Nation.
He expressed his deep hopes and surety that the o zealous and spirited movement of lawyers, which was not politically oriented, would reap its rich rewards in near future, since it contrived for independence of judiciary only.
Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry paid glowing tributes to lawyers of Chakwal, for according him a historical welcome during his Chakwal visit, which speaks volumes for prudence and maturity of Chakwalians.
