Islamabad: A large number of lawyers affiliated with Islamabad Bar Association Saturday reached the residence of chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to see him off for United States of America, where he will receive a medal from Howard University.
Lawyers of different bars in the shape of big caravan moved from the residence of CJ to Islamabad International Airport to see him off. Lawyers of Islamabad Bar Association also staged hunger strike camp and boycotted the court proceedings in connection with restoration of all deposed judges.
Speaking on the occasion Islamabad Bar Association Secretary Riasat Ali Azad said soon all deposed judges would be restored and struggle of legal fraternity would be successful. “Justice Iftikhar is our constitutional chief justice and no one can replace him and he would be restored at any cost because he is not only being supported by only the lawyers and political parties, but the general public supports him too,” he said.
He said legal fraternity of Pakistan would never stop its struggle for the restoration of all deposed judges including deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
