NEW YORK: Pakistan-American lawyers’ forum for Human Rights has organized a rally to observe Black Day to mark first anniversary of proclamation of emergency by former military ruler Pervez Musharraf on 3rd November 2007.
Deposed Chief Justice, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and former president Supreme Court Bar Association, Aitzaz Ahsan in a telephonic address to the rally have said that they were proud of Pakistani’s doctors, professionals, traders, students and workers who participated in the rally.
Deposed Chief Justice, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary also thanked God for blessing him with courage and power, that had transformed him into a symbol of judiciary after March 2007.
He said that progress and development of Pakistan was impossible without independence of judiciary, and Supremacy of law and rule of law was inevitable in the country.
He also thanked representatives of civil societies, lawyers’ fraternity for their struggle for independence of judiciary.
Aitzaz Ahsan appreciated numerous sacrifices of Pakistan’s community in US.
