CJP Chaudhry to preside over KBA oath-taking.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry will be the chief guest at an oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected body of the Karachi Bar Association (KBA) on January 17 in the backyard of the court.

KBA General Secretary Naeem Qureshi, along with President Muhammed Ali Abbasi, said during a press conference on Wednesday that all arrangements for his welcome at Quaid-e-Azam International Airport had been finalised.

The deposed CJP would arrive at noon on Saturday by flight no. PK-301. Complete protocol would be provided to him, and the KBA was in touch with the provincial administration.

Law-enforcement agencies have taken position at the city courts premises as a precautionary measure. The deposed CJP would address the biggest bar association of the country for the first time on Saturday, KBA office bearers said.
