LAHORE: Former President Supreme Court Bar Association Aitzaz Ahsan has expressed the hope that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would continue to work for the restoration of the judiciary by adhering to Murree Declaration.
Talking to media men at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Saturday in connection with the arrival of deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry at Lahore, the veteran lawyer leader however stated that lawyers community did not demand anything from Punjab Government regarding the visit of deposed CJ.
Commenting on recent meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Aitzaz Ahsan said that he (Shahbaz) discussed on the implementation of Murree Declaration with the President. He urged for continue pressure for the restoration of the judiciary and supremacy of the democracy and the Parliament.
Talking on lawyers’ movement, Aitazaz Ahsan said that lawyers are in high spirit and their struggle would continued till to bring the movement to its logical end, adding the visit of deposed Chief Justice would further boost the movement.
