ISLAMABAD: The chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry returned to Islamabad on Friday after a 12-day visit to US.At his arrival, he was accorded a warm reception by a large number of jubilant lawyers and political workers at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
Lawyers and political activists had gathered outside the airport in large number on early Friday morning to receive Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry. They chanted anti-government slogans and danced to celebrate his return.
President, Supreme Court Bar Association, Ali Ahmed Kurd and other lawyers’ leaders were also present at the airport to receive him.
At the airport, deposed chief justice thanked people for the reception by waving his hand and later left for his residence in the shape of a big caravan.
On the other hand, lawyers are observing a complete boycott in district and High Courts on the call of Rawalpindi’s High Court.
